Modernising Coventry’s street lighting
Balfour Beatty Living Places are working in partnership with Coventry’s City Council to deliver 25-year street lighting contract, creating a more sustainable network.
In October 2010, Balfour Beatty Living Places was awarded a 25-year street lighting PFI partnership by Coventry City Council.
Over the first five years, we replaced and upgraded all of the street lights across the city, creating a more sustainable network by reducing energy usage by 50%, minimising light pollution, improving response times, and reducing the overall number of street lights by 10%, helping to save 3,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
What we do
As well as managing and maintaining the existing inventory of street lighting and illuminated assets, we deliver a number of other services including highway electrical works and upgrades to LED lighting.
